RAMEY WINE CELLARS
Location: California, Napa Valley / Sonoma County
Ramey Wine Cellars was founded in 1996 and is one of California’s most recognized and important wineries, producing a variety of wines from different grapes, but mainly focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley and Chardonnay from Sonoma County. Owner/Winemaker David Ramey has a wealth of experience in the winemaking profession. David previously worked for and produced wine for wineries in both California and Bordeaux including Matanzas Creek, Chalk Hil, Dominus Estate, Rudd and the Moueix family at Château Pétrus where learned traditional French winemaking techniques.
Year after year the wines from Ramey Wine Cellars are nothing short of spectacular. Their dedication to creating high quality, handcrafted wines with balance and richness from the area’s finest vineyards has certainly paid off. Ramey’s philosophy is about terroir. The vineyards are selected for their ability to sustainably produce the highest quality fruit. The soil must be right for the climate, which must be right for the terrain, which must be right for the varietal.
Ramey focuses his absolute attention to the tiniest details. Balanced by a willingness to trust nature’s sometimes unpredictable impulses along with a philosophy rooted in traditional methods combined with an eagerness to explore exciting innovations in the industry with the belief that life is for living, wine is for sharing, and harmony is essential to both.
