The East Bench Zinfandel comes from a eastern facing, 12 year old vineyard set over the Dry Creek Valley. Weighing in at 15.1% alcohol, you wouldn't know that with a sip of this balanced Zinfandel. This saw 13 months in mostly used American oak, prior to bottling. The wine starts with a perfumed nose of prune, rose petals and red cherry. Bright acidity mingles with complex flavors of red currant, blackberry jam and strawberry with nice richness on the palate. Showing well today, but also will also hold up nicely for a few more years.
