The 2016 Cabernet Franc from Sinegal is magnificent. Winemaker Ryan Knoth has added 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot to the Cabernet Franc and aged it in new French oak for 22 months. The result is a beautifully perfumed wine that opens to stunning aromatics of blackberries and red currants which are joined by nuances of graphite, tobacco and spring florals that all emerge beautifully from the glass. On the palate this is medium to full bodied and polished and displays remarkable structure and poise, along with outstanding depth and concentration leading up to the long, precise finish. Simply put, this is a sensational Cabernet Franc that will go on to have a brilliant future ahead.
