MACROSTIE Chardonnay, Wildcat Mountain Vineyard 2014

This Pinot Noir comes from Steve Macrostie's Wildcat Mountain Vineyard, where the vines are are planted to sparse volcanic soils and influenced by the strong winds from the Pacific Ocean. The Pinot Noir is is made from clone 5 planted in 1998 as well as Arrow Block clone 667 and 115 grapes and additional clone 667 grapes from their Saddle Block planted in 2000. This wine itself begins with aromatic profile of fresh red cherries, spices and violets along with hints of earth and ground coffee. It delivers fresh red fruits on the palate with a soft elegant finish. (Best 2017-2026) - July, 2017 (MD)
