The 2014 Argyle 'Nuthouse' Chardonnay is another gorgeous release from this estate. This excellent Eola-Amity Hills bottling was sourced from the Lone Star Vineyard. Needing some warming up in the decanter and initially a bit aromatically subdued, this eventually opens to striking aromas of nectarine, Bartlett pear and vanilla crème brûlée. The palate yields dense flavors of Gravenstein apple, starfruit, white peach, pineapple and crème brûlée accents. This has lovely richness and an oily texture on the mid-palate that glides to the exceedingly long vanilla-cream finish, which lingers for more than half a minute. This complex, warmer vintage Chardonnay will cellar well into the next decade. This is up there with the most complex 'Nuthouse' Chardonnay wines that I've tasted in the past decade.
