The 2016 Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir by Lange is another sensational effort from this warm vintage in the Willamette Valley. The aromatic range is sensational from peat moss and horse manure to green olive tapenade, blood orange zest and red cherry candy that all take their shape in the glass. The palate is soft, round and generous, showing a great sense of elegance. Blackberry preserves, damp earth, and shades of sour huckleberry with Satsuma orange rind all collide on the palate. This finishes long with black fruits and minerals.
