The 2016 ‘Winemaker’s Cuvée’ shows a deep color and opens with a bouquet of forest floor and black tea followed by a touch of citrus rind and red fruits. The palate is quite lively, showing a good sense of tension. Red and dark fruits line the glass with flavors of peat moss also being quite dominant. This is an excellent effort.
