The 2015 The Funk Estate Syrah was co-fermented with 5% Viognier. The nose is distinctly stony, with wet stone taking the lead, followed by black olive tapenade, barn floor, blackberry cobbler and Umami. The palate is silky smooth, showing off ripe blackberry pie, black tea, Asian spices and Umami flavors. Intense, yet showing a lovely elegant side, this is an exceptional bottling from the talented hands of winemaker Richard Funk.
