The gorgeous 2021 En Cerise Syrah from Cayuse is 100% Syrah that saw 15-20% new French oak for 18 months during aging. A lovely medium to dark blue-purple core with a lighter red rim, the 2021 En Cerise is impressive delivering scintillating aromas and flavors of black cherries, blue plums, crushed olives, black-peppered charcuterie, and dried violets. An interesting ox-blood characteristic hits the mid-palate and melds perfectly with the crunchy tannins, lofty acidity, and earthy, peppery finish. 379 cases made. Better in 2025. Highly recommended.
