CAYUSE Syrah, Walla Walla Valley ‘En Chamberlin Vineyard’ 2021

Also checking in with 100% Syrah, the 2021 En Chamberlin Syrah from Cayuse rested in 15-20% new French oak for 18 months and it’s another wonderful example from the Cayuse family of Syrahs. More earthy and smoky than its siblings, it starts off with complex notes of wet-tilled earth, crushed pink peppercorn, dusty herbs, grilled meats, and dried purple flowers. Blue and black fruit hit the palate, alongside the sweet tannins and mouthwatering acidity. It’s a wine that changes over time in the glass so give this some time to develop and enjoy it over a few hours. 392 cases were crafted. Highly recommended.
