You don’t see much Carmenère in Washington, so this is a fun wine to experience. It absolutely explodes with varietal typicity - think of black-pepper-dusted rose petals, fresh blackberry, black plums, dried flowers, pencil shavings, green bell pepper, and toasted walnut shells. It’s aged 18 months in French oak barrels, giving it some chalky oak tannins on the palate. Pair this one with a big Argentinian steak. About 340 cases were produced.
