A 100% Syrah that is aged in 50% new French oak. On the nose you immediately know it comes from The Rocks District with that distinctive “Rocks Funk” that is typical of the area. It’s earthy and funky with notes of fresh marionberry, macerated blueberry, wet forest floor, mushroom, grapefruit zest, violet flower, smoked pork shoulder and black olive. The palate shows more of the same alongside some graphite and dried herbs. This is a seriously delicious, complex, balanced and delicious Syrah that constantly evolves in the glass. Medium bodied on the palate, it finishes with a beautiful sense of place and gorgeous minerality. Highly recommended.
