The 2021 Richard Hermann Cuvée Pinot Noir comes from a high-elevation, single vineyard that is farmed organically. Sporting a medium ruby-garnet core with a light neon pink rim in the glass, it’s a pleasure to admire. A more brooding Pinot Noir compared to its siblings, it starts with notes of Christmas spices and forest breeze and then moves to additional flavors and aromas of freshly crushed boysenberry, wild mountain huckleberry, cedary herbs, dried sagebrush, Blood orange pith, purple wildflowers, dusty earth, umami, and tilled wet earth. Another almost perfect Pinot from the team at 00 Wines it finishes with structured sweet tannins and a lengthy and earthy finish. Only 224 cases were made. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
