The 2015 Cakebread Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 85% cabernet sauvignon, 5% merlot, 5% petit Verdot and 5% cabernet franc. The fruit was aged aged six months in French oak barrels, 57% new, before being blended and spent another 12 months in barrel before bottling. It begins with inviting aromas of ripe dark cherries and black currants along with sweet baking spices, loam and mocha all bursting from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied and layered, with incredible depth, ending with a long, voluptuous finish. This seductive Cabernet is already drinking fantastic, and should continue to do so for at least another decade.
