The 2007 Cardinale is shaping up remarkably well. The blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot opens with gorgeous aromatics of crème de cassis, roasted coffee grounds, eucalyptus and wild thyme. The rich texture is outstanding, as layers of ripe black fruits are accompanied by chocolate and coffee notes. This is beautifully structured with excellent overall depth and concentration through the finish. A simply remarkable wine with a wonderful future ahead.
