A richer and more opulent style than their traditional Napa Valley Cabernet, the 2013 Hall 'Ellie's' Cabernet is a gorgeous wine built for the cellar. This wine is named after Craig Hall's mother, who was an artist and developed Craig’s affinity for art collecting. This dense cored wine opens with an aromatic profile of cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, red cherries, red currant and hints of milk chocolate. There are concentrated flavors of pipe tobacco, mocha, anise, crème de cassis and blackberry cobbler. There is a wonderful seamless quality as this Cabernet glides through the mid-palate. While this is already outstanding, I expect this will cellar beautifully into the next decade and beyond. (Best 2017-2030) - September, 2016 (OB)
