The 2017 'Jayson' Cabernet Sauvignon from Pahlmeyer is a towering wine which was aged 17-months in new French oak. It displays a menacing, dark inky color with aromas of blackberries, blueberries, mocha, sweet spices, herbs, violets, licorice and some earthy nuances that all take shape and burst from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied, dense and concentrated, backed by rich opulent layers of ripe black and blue fruits that envelope the plush finish. Overall, this is a profound, open-knit Cabernet Sauvignon that is very expressive today, but shoud also offer a decade long drinking window.
