The 2016 'The Bishop' is a simply stunning Cabernet Sauvignon from Hall. It spent 26 Months in 100% new French oak and is absolutely intoxicating in its youth, but also has a long way to go. It immediately draws you in with its complex aromatics of blueberry pie, black tea, Asian spices, mocha and tar that all collide in the glass. The palate is gorgeous, as it shows off silky tannins and a voluptuous mouthfeel making for a wonderful seamless character as it glides across the mid-palate. Intense and layered, flavors of crème de cassis, rich mocha, anise, Turkish coffee and minerals all come together beautifully to leave a lasting impresssion on the long, enveloping finish. The Bishop is an absolute delight to savor in its youth, however this stunning Cabernet Sauvignon should also go on to evolve gracefully for decades.
