The 2016 La Pelle Cabernet Sauvignon from Maayan Koschizky is an absolutely gorgeous wine in this vintage. Forward and expressive, this succulent Cabernet begins with inviting aromas of red currants and ripe black plums woven together with savory wild herbs, sweet spices and tobacco nuances all soaring from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied and seamless, with beautiful round, polished tannins leading up the opulent finish. While this is already drinking absolutely beautiful, the 2016 should also go on to offer a drinking window that spans a at least a decade. Readers should be on the lookup for this new label from one of Napa Valley's most talented winemakers.
