CADUCEUS CELLARS 'Sancha' 2013

The 2013 'Sancha' is an absolutely exceptional wine made from 100% Tempranillo, which was sourced from the Al Buhl Memorial Vineyard in Cochise County. The vineyard is located at 4300 feet elevation and some of the vines are as much as 29 years old. This begins with seductive aromatics of ripe blackberries and dark currents woven together with exotic spices, tobacco, dark cacao, wild flowers and hints of fresh mint all taking shape. On the palate this is full-bodied and nicely structured with remarkable depth and concentration. The tannins are beautifully polished and silky smooth, with a wonderful opulent texture through the long finish. While this is absolutely delicious today, it also displays wonderful ageing potential and should continue to develop even further over the course of the next decade.
