AU BON CLIMAT Chardonnay 'Nuits-Blanches au Bouge' 2013

2016 TOP 100 WINES | Rank #39

The 'Nuits-Blanches au Bouge' Chardonnay has been made for the past 20 vintages and it would be difficult to find a more compelling bottling of this wine. This is traditionally made from 90% UC Davis clone 4 Chardonnay from Bien Nacido Vineyard “K” Block, which one of the original blocks planted at Bien Nacido in the early 1970s, and 10% Dijon Clones 76 and 96 from the estate vineyard Le Bon Climat. The wine itself is simply striking, possessing complex aromas of fresh cut apple, lime, ripe mellon, peach, followed by hints of pineapple, and wild flowers. This white is intensely flavored with great purity and depth which will make for wonderful aging potential. Everything wraps together into the long silky finish. Overall this is a truly remarkable wine which is drinking outstanding right now and will continue to flourish for the next decade plus. (Best 2016-2030) - June, 2016 (MD)
