The stunning 2021 Succession GSM by Bien Nacido Estate is a new wine to me and is a scintillating blend of 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache, and 20% Mourvedre. It’s aged for 16 months in about 40% new French oak and stuns with aromas of freshly crushed black raspberries, blue plums, mountain sage, melted milk chocolate, bacon fat, and olive brine. Complex and structured on the palate, it gifts balanced tannins, perfect levels of acidity, and long-lasting earth and meaty finish. A little over 100 cases made. High recommended.
