The 2016 Bien Nacido Chardonnay from Tyler is simply fantastic. This Chardonnay comes from vines planted to the shale laden gravel soils of Bien Nacido Vineyard which are still on their own roots from back in 1973. This stunning wine immediately opens with bright aromatics of citrus, quince, Asian pear, green mango and star fruits are coupled with honeysuckle, vanilla blossom and toasted hazelnut. On the palate this shows excellent focus, with gorgeous layers of fruit which expand beautifully across through the wine. This medium-full bodied Chardonnay possesses an outstanding texture with remarkable precision through the finish. This is an simply brilliant wine and will certainly continue to drink beautifully over the next decade.
