Sourced from Red Mountain, the 2105 ‘Coda’ is a lovely blend of 46% Cabernet Franc, 28% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. This year’s blend of is almost half Cabernet Franc, but 17% Cabernet Sauvignon brings an appealing weight to it. The roasted pepper, blackberry, and wild raspberry are complemented by a hint of minerality. While this is slightly more approachable at its young age than its siblings, a long decant is still advised, as this excellent red will hold up for many years. (Best 2017-2028) - July, 2017 (OB)
