ANDREW JANUIK Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Mountain ‘Stone Cairn’ 2021

It's my favorite of the lineup, probably because I gravitate towards Red Mountain Cabernet. This 2021 Stone Cairn from Andrew Januik is stunning from start to finish. Needing about 10 minutes in the glass to fully open up, you are then greeted with lovely notes of boysenberry fruit, wild blueberries, dried mountain sagebrush, sweet vanilla bean, sandalwood, powdered allspice, and shades of wet earth. Tannins are rounded and sweet, which pair with the rounded, full-bodied mouthfeel you get across the tongue. I loved the bitter herb and black fruit finish. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
