The 2020 Hedges Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, bold, and beautiful wine from their estate vineyards on Red Mountain and is a combination of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot, 4% Syrah, 4% Malbec, and 1% Petit Verdot and is aged for approximately 20 months in a combination of French and American oak. The deep purple core with a neon pink rim displays beautifully in the glass while intoxicating aromas of black plum, cassis, macerated boysenberry, mountain sagebrush, sweet toasted cinnamon stick, orange blossom, and oak spice are everpresent on the nose. The palate is wonderfully balanced between the crunchy tannins, the perfect levels of acidity, and the wonderful fruit-forward and spicy finish. The price-to-quality ratio on this Cabernet is insane. Enjoy this now with a heavy decant or cellar for a decade or more, but better in 2024 onward. About 1300 cases produced.
