The nose begins with some slight yummy barnyard aromas that I adore in my Cabernet Sauvignons and quickly opens up to additional aromas of black currant, graphite and black-peppered charcuterie. The wine is aged in 71% new French oak for 28 months which helps deliver a rich palate of cassis, blueberry pie, smoked nutmeg and tobacco leaf. It’s a decadent wine that over delivers on the price and is one of the best wines I’ve tasted from Fidelitas. It needs another 2 years to really come together, but after that enjoy it over the next 15 years. Highly recommended.
