A beautiful Red Mountain Syrah, released with almost a decade of age, originally rested 22 months in a combination of 66% new American oak and 34% new French oak. The American oak definitely shines through on the nose with variations of dried coconut, dark chocolate, freshly chopped dill, wild blackberry and a lovely baked red pear pie component. The palate is medium plus bodied with baked black and blue fruits shining through the lovely black pepper, charcuterie, black olive flavors. Acidity is medium and the tannins are present but almost integrated. Drink now or over the next 6 years. Only 53 cases produced.
