The 2018 Longwinds from Canvasback is an absolute stunner that offers lovely balance and class combined with serious Red Mountain pizazz. Crafted with 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot and resting for 20 months in French oak barrels, with 88% being new, it reveals a saturated deep ruby color and explosive notes of black cherry, boysenberry jam, pine needle, dark chocolate and hints of espresso powder. A velvety texture combines with a full-bodied mouthfeel that is concentrated and perfectly balanced. This is a wine built to last for several decades and was my favorite from the 2018s of Canvasback. Highly recommended.
