The 2018 Ciel du Cheval from Canvasback is brilliantly crafted and offers a kaleidoscope of fresh blackberry, black currant, graphite, cedar box, crushed gravel and cardamon. Silky and full-bodied, with lovely tannins and acidity, it is balanced and graceful with a complex, layered stye that is round and scrumptious on the palate. The blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc spends 20 months in French oak aging, with 72% new.
