A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot that is aged 27 months in 80% new French oak, this is a powerful wine with high levels of acidity and even higher levels of grippy, chalky tannins. The nose has penetrating aromas of blackberry liqueur, candied black plum, toasted baking spices, walnuts and cedar box. The flavor profile is much the same but carries a bit more blue fruit than the black-fruit dominated nose. The mouthfeel is full, the fruit is present but the tannins are incredibly elevated where I would recommend a 1-2 day decant on this wine or the need to cellar for 2-3 years.
