A Merlot-dominant blend of 76% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and the remainder of Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot is aged for 18 months in 35% new American oak. A bouquet of black cherry, blue plum, Asian 5 spice and scorched earth are prominent on the nose while a palate of black cherry, mocha and oak tannin form the backbone of the palate. Tannins are starting to integrate but could probably use another year in the bottle to really gel.
