I absolutely love how the winemaking team at JM Cellars are pushing the boundaries and trying new things with their wines. This 100% Grenache is aged in clay amphora and oak barrel puncheon and this combination gives a beautiful dichotomy to the wine. With bright fruit flavors balancing well with the full richness from the oak. The pretty nose expresses wild blueberry, red raspberry, dusty road and iron ore while the palate adds flavors of candied cherry and milk chocolate. It delivers medium acidity and tannins to the palate that is balanced on the mid-palate with popping red fruits, a bright but structured core and a lengthy finish. Very complex and yummy. One of the better Grenache wines to come out of Washington State.
