My favorite wine out of the Corliss 2016 lineup, this mind-blowing Cabernet Sauvignon from the famous Red Mountain Vineyard is aged in about 60% new French oak. A bouquet of black currants, cassis, black pepper, sandalwood and crushed dried violet petals are present on the nose. The mouthfeel is full and luscious with perfect acidity and sweet tannins that need another two to three years to integrate. An explosion of flavors greet your palate with notes of blackberry compote, wild boysenberry, crushed wet slate, sweet ground cloves, dark chocolate shavings and pencil shavings. This wine is one of the best Washington Cabernet Sauvignons that I have tasted from the hot 2016 vintage and shows how incredible the winemaking team at Corliss is at their craft. Highly recommended.
