This oustanding 100% Syrah from the Weathereye Vineyard of Red Mountain is aged in 25% new French oak barrels. A dreamy intoxicating stream of macerated blackberry, new suede leather, vanilla bean, coffee and balsamic reduction fill the top of the glass. The old-world Rhone style palate of fresh blackberry, bacon fat, dried sage, ground black peppercorns and espresso is gorgeous on the palate. Medium plus tannins are balanced with a tight core of earth and fruit that will only get better with time.
