An astounding follow up to last year’s wonderful Red Mountain Estate Syrah, Winemaker Todd Alexander has done it again with this 2018 vintage. This 15% whole cluster fermented wine is composed of 98% Syrah co-fermented with 2% viognier, which livens the nose with beautiful white floral notes. This is contrasted by the intoxicating meaty, dark fruit and licorice tones you receive from the Syrah. Savory notes of saline, smoked beef ribs, and iron finish with bursts of fresh blackberry, sage, grapefruit are framed by fine tannins. Highly recommended.
