This excellent Chardonnay is sourced from a cool site (White Salmon Vineyard) in a hot vintage. It is named after Washington wine pioneer Dr. William McAndrew who planted vines in the Columbia Gorge region back in 1972. The Chardonnay begins with light aromas of Red Delicious apple, nutmeg, and white peach. There are delicate flavors of Granny Smith apple, cantaloupe, unripe mango and gooseberry elements. This has wonderful astringency considering the warmth of the vintage. (Best 2017-2025) - April, 2017 (OB)
