Another gorgeous Pinot Noir from Ken Wright coming out of the famed Shea Vineyard that I actually like a tad bit more than their fantastic 2016 and 2017 vintages. This wine is a bit leaner than some of his other wines from this vintage with fresh aromas of boysenberry, forest blueberry, sage and sweet baking spices. The fruit-forward nose leads to a more savory palate that I fully expect to bloom over the upcoming years. Imagine a palate of juicy pomegranate, fresh red raspberry, star anise, saline and a smokey overtone that is absolutely killer. Delicious now, it will be perfect with a few years in the bottle and will last for a decade or more. Highly recommended.
