A barrel selection from the best barrels from the Drouhin estate in the Dundee Hills, this wine shows a more savory expression on the nose with notes of freshly tilled earth, sage leaves, browned butter with fruit notes of black cherry and red currant. Moving to the more fruit-forward palate, you find touches of blackberry, black raspberry, aged leather, baking chocolate and some dried brown mushroom powder. It’s a stunning effort and will drink beautifully over the course of the next decade.
