Domaine Drouhin’s flagship wine comes entirely from fruit picked from their Dundee Hills estate and this 2017 does not disappoint. In fact, it was my favorite from the 2017 vintage and resonates with personality on the nose, the palate and the finish. Expressive aromas of strawberry preserves, Eucalyptus, cinnamon and freshly laid bark shine on the sensational nose. The mouthfeel is full and generous and shimmers with flavors of black raspberry, lemon zest, fresh sage and toasty ground nutmeg. The finish is textured and layered with medium plus amounts of acidity and tannin that are already integrated perfectly. Drink now or over the next decade. Highly recommended.
