DAVID ARTHUR Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley Estate 'Elevation 1147' 2012

This spectacular Cabernet is sourced from the block 8 clone, planted high atop David Arthur’s Pritchard Hill Vineyard. In 2012 this wine is absolutely brilliant, delivering seductive aromas of black currants and dark berries woven together with spices, spring floral, brown sugar, mint and dusty minerals, which all come together beautifully in the glass. This Cabernet is impressive for its remarkable structure and balance along with wonderful layers of depth, without getting the slightest bit jammy. The mineral driven finish shows excellent length, leaving behind a mouthful of flavors to linger. Even at this early stage the 2012 is extremely appealing, but also shows signs that it will only contunie to evolve gracefully over the years to come. (Best 2016-2032) - May, 2015 (JD)
