SOLISTE Sauvignon Blanc 'St. Andelain' 2012

Soliste proprietor Claude Koeberle created this wine to honor the legendary Didier Dagueneau. Like Dagueneau, Claude is a perfectionist and focuses on all the fine details when creating his wines and this brilliant Sauvignon Blanc was certainly no exception. Originating from a single organic vineyard, the grapes were destemmed and allowed 36 hours of skin contact. After pressing, the grapes were then aged for 16 months in Didier’s famous, cigar shaped barrels. The wine itself is extremely complex, with intoxicating aromas of apricot, preserved lime, kiwi, green herbs, tropical fruits, melon, and fresh spring flowers all bursting from the glass. On the palate it displays sheer elegance, with a gorgeous soft texture and layers of fresh exotic fruit flavors resonating through the vibrant finish. Overall, this is a simply stunning wine that will provide instant satisfaction. (Best 2014-2024) - November, 2014 (MD)
