This beautiful Calera Pinot Noir from the Mt Harlan vineyard spends 17 months in 30% new French oak barrels. A melange of red plums, dark raspberries, cherry cola, fresh singed thyme and a touch of orange peel jump from the glass. The palate is juicy and mouth watering with flavors of fresh wild blueberry, ripe red strawberries, freshly ground clove and just a touch of cedar. Alcohol is high at 14.8%, but the wine is so balanced, with medium plus acidity and tannins, that you don’t notice it at all.
