Spending 22 months in 225L French oak barrels, with 50% being new, this Cabernet is a bit more complex than the Vogelzang. Blue-fruit driven on the nose and on the palate, it explodes with blueberry and huckleberry pie notes, and then expands with other components of tobacco leaf, toasted clove, saffron and a hint of tar and fresh jalapeno. Tannins are on the medium low side and already integrated while the acidity is medium high. The finish is very fruit forward and supple. Only 350 cases produced.
