The 2013 Airfield Estates 'Aviator' Red is another impressive showing from this estate. This Bordeaux style blend has a medium ruby color with aromas of cassis, tar, bramble and cloves. The tannins are firm, but not overly astringent as it currently displays black currants, bitter chocolate and espresso flavors on the palate. The acid structure has good range and finish. This wine can be cellared for another 5-7 years but is beautiful right now. (Best 2017-2024) - April, 2017 (JH)
