KERLOO CELLARS Malbec, Stone Tree Vineyard 2013

This Malbec bottling is a tremendous effort from Kerloo and head winemaker Ryan Crane. Located on the Wahluke slope, the Stone Tree vineyard is developing a great reputation for Malbec. The wine was aged in 75% neutral French oak and you get that touch of new oak in the aromatic profile. Sourced from two different blocks which were harvested a week apart, the Stone Tree vineyard sits on a 250 acre property in Mattawa, Washington. There are aromatics of milk chocolate, dill, blueberry and blackberry. This leads to flavors of blueberry, anise, blackberry and mocha. Delicious and rich effort that is hard to resist right now. (Best 2016-2025) - March, 2016 (OB)
