Holly’s Cuvée is composed of all three blocks of Chardonnay in the Spring Ridge Vineyard; In 2012 the breakdown for the cuvée consists of predominantly Bee Block along with small percentages of Amphitheater and Home Block. As this begins to unwind in the glass lovely aromas of bosc pear and lemon oil are accompanied by vanilla blossoms, smoke and flinty minerals, which all come together beautifully. It possesses gorgeous mid-palate weight with a wonderful richly textured mouthfeel backed by bright acidity which carries on through the lively finish. Bob and Jim Varner produce some of the very best Single Vineyard/Single Block Chardonnay in California from these three blocks in the Spring Ridge Vineyard and this Cuvée is a wonderful example of all three.
