The 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Philip Togni is absolutely stunning and one of the most impressive wines I’ve had the pleasure of tasting from this storied estate on Spring Mountain. It begins with inviting aromas of fresh ripe blackberries and cassis along with tobacco, fresh cut florals, crushed stones and hints of graphite all taking shape. On the palate this is classy and beautifully structured, with firm tannins supporting it all. It continues to impress with wonderful overall balance and finesse through the ultra-long, extremely focused finish. There is no doubt this is a remarkably well made wine with the potential to thrive in the cellar for decades.
