RIDGE Zinfandel 'Old School' 2007

The 2007 Ridge 'Old School' Zinfandel is sourced from four parcels of Zinfandel. Two of the four chosen parcels contain nineteenth-century vines, two were planted in the 1960s, while all share gravelly loam and river-rock sub-soil. This incredible wine opens with aromatics of black tea, black cherry, rhubarb pie and cherry tomato. Lithe and light on its feet, this wine has impressive weight and mineral backing. This is both heady and elegant, with flavors of black cherries, black tea, anise, stewed strawberry and black plum all persist through the finish. Overall this is an utterly compelling Zinfandel from Ridge. (Best 2017-2025) - April, 2017 (OB)
