KOSTA BROWN Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley ‘Cerise Vineyard’ 2017

Showcasing a medium garnet core with a brickish rim in the glass, the 2017 Cerise Vineyard Pinot Noir from Kosta Brown is another stunner of a wine. The beautifully defined bouquet of freshly crushed red cherry and macerated strawberry fruits start the journey. As the wine develops, you find notes of toasted pine nuts, forest floor, dried mushroom, autumn leaves, saline, and a touch of roasted meat. Lean and structured on the palate with elevated acidity, crunchy tannin, and a herbaceous finish, this is another wine that needs more time in the bottle before enjoying. It still feels very young, even though it’s starting to show some of those tertiary characteristics, and it should age for another 10 years without a problem.
